Kemar Roofe may have departed Elland Road but his heart is still with the players.
The 26-year-old joined Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht side this summer, having scored 32 goals in 122 games for the Whites since arriving from Oxford in the summer of 2016.
His impressive contribution of 14 league goals last season for Marcelo Bielsa’s side helped them reach the Championship play-offs, where they were unfortunately beaten in the semi-finals by Derby County.
While Roofe settles into his new surroundings in Brussels, he’s clearly allowed him a few home comforts to ease the transition. And on this particular occasion, that consisted of watching his former side swat away Salford City 3-0 in the Caraboa Cup.
Goals from new signing Eddie Nketiah, Mateusz Klich, and unlikely source Gaetano Berardi were enough to sink their Class of ’92 owned opponents and send Leeds sailing into the next round.
Roofe took to Instagram to give old friend Berardi, who previously hadn’t scored a single goal for two years, a digital pat on the back…
Lovely stuff.
