The international break is over – thank goodness.
You’d be forgiven for being a little negative about the first international break of the season, given it interrupts our beloved domestic campaign just as it is picking up momentum.
It’s not that we hate it, but get back to us in the summer of 2020 and we’ll begin to enjoy watching England decimate the likes of Bulgaria again. Football’s coming home and all that jazz, right?
Everton’s Alex Iwobi is one of those fortunate few to have been presented with the opportunity to represent his country, Nigeria, over the past couple of weeks. The 23-year-old contributed one assist in a friendly match against Ukraine.

However, with his Eagles duties now over, he’s done what every respectable football player in the modern world does and posted to social media. Lucky us!
And of course, no Instagram post would be complete without a teammate commenting some form of trivial message accompanied by a couple of emojis. Fortunately for Iwobi, Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho was well aware of this fact. Shame he isn’t as on it about his goalscoring duties, though…
