Antonio Rudiger pending.
Chelsea’s big German defender has been out of action since picking up a freak injury against Wolverhampton Wanderers last month. The 26-year-old was perhaps a little unfortunate to slip on a metal plate on the touchline while fetching a ball that had gone out of play at Molineux on his return from knee surgery in April.

Rudiger has been absent for the last five games in all competitions, and while Frank Lampard’s side have won all five, his upcoming return will come as welcome news – especially as fellow defensive option Andreas Christensen is expected to be out for the next two weeks after suffering a setback on international duty with Denmark.

Although Rudiger is not available for Chelsea’s upcoming Champions League clash against Ajax, the snaps he posted to his Instagram, and the positive responses he got from his teammates Callum Hudson-Odoi and Marcos Alonso, would suggest that he’s incredibly close to his grand return.
